Bulk mail is a designation and a certain type of mail. Sending bulk mail can save you money on mailings. A special indicia is required when sending things by bulk mail. CMS can provide that indicia to customers if needed and process your mail so that it qualifies as bulk mail and gives you the lowest possible postage rates.
What’s the difference between bulk mail and regular mail? Let’s look at an example. If you are mailing 5000 postcards, let’s say they are 5.5” x 8.5”, the price for postage if you are adding a stamp of your own, would come to about $2,300. And this example doesn’t count the manual labor you need to add a stamp to each postcard. On the other hand, mailing these postcards through CMS would allow postage pricing as low as 28.5 cents each, totaling $1,425.
Bulk Mail Delivery. If you send mail by first class presort, you can expect delivery within 1-4 days from when you drop the mail. If you are mailing standard bulk rate, you should allow 7-10 days.
What Qualifies for Bulk Mail? The quantity of your mailing must be a minimum of 200 pieces. If your bulk mail needs to be tracked, CMS may be able to add information to the bar code to allow tracking. Bulk mail also needs to be sorted by Zip Code order. Again, CMS can take care of that for you.
Estimates Can Be Provided. If you plan a mailing, give CMS a call. We can discuss the value of Bulk Mail with you and make sure your mailing qualifies for the best pricing. Give us a call at 718-238-2919.
