The United States Post Office recently announced increased pricing for stamps beginning August 29, 2021. This price increase is for First Class Mail, which covers postcards, letters under 1 ounce and envelopes. The “Forever” stamp, which is currently at 55 cents will increase to 58 cents.
The USPS hopes that this increase in First Class Mail will generate enough revenue to offset the continuing decline in mail volume.
Other price increases. Aside from the stamp increase, the following services will also increase:
- Metered 1 oz letters: from 55 cents to 58 cents
- Domestic postcards: from 36 cents to 40 cents
- Flats: from $1 to $1.16.
- Outbound international letters: from $1.20 to $1.30.
